The treatment process can comprise of two main stages. Ben focuses on the initial objective of reducing the immediate pain state of the patient. This is achieved with a number of treatment modalities such as Deep Tissue Work, Western Dry Needling and the newest treatment, Low level Laser Therapy or Cold Laser Therapy.

This new introduction to Ben’s services is focused on a pain free way of speeding healing and reducing pain. Ben decided to invest in this equipment after a series of car accidents left him with a disc injury in 2018. This mode of treatment improved his symptoms quicker than he expected and therefore sparked his interest to investigate further. Laser therapy can help a number of different issues and is discussed further in the services section.

The second and longer term objective of treatment is to rehabilitate the injury, to reduce further occurrences and strengthen the imbalances. Ben achieves this by advising on a graduated programme of exercises that can be run alongside a hands on programme or as a single mode of treatment. The treatment process does not necessarily mean numerous visits. Most patients are seen between 1-4 sessions and then Ben provides ongoing support remotely at no extra cost.

After Ben sustained a back injury in the early 90s, he found it difficult to move forward with his life as the injury kept holding him back in terms of his training and quality of life. The injury would often return with no real explanation why and impact his ability to enjoy even the simple things in life such as socialising with friends. Through years of searching for therapists that understood his body, Ben eventually found a South African Osteopath who enabled him to return to normal function.

Ben then set out on a journey to be qualified as a primary healthcare provider and realise a dream of being able to provide a quality service combined with clinically sound reasoning. This journey saw him qualifying in 2005 with a Diploma in Osteopathy and a Diploma in Naturopathy from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Ben also undertook an extended year of study that awarded him a Bachelor of Osteopathic Medicine (BOst Med) in 2006. The extended year of study provided Ben with the opportunity to study more specialised subjects such as sports injuries. Ben currently uses this knowledge to work closely with national and international athletes, to enable them to perform in their chosen sport at the highest level.

Ben provides a different service from traditional osteopaths. As well as offering the usual hands on treatment of mobilisations, joint manipulations, deep tissue massage and stretching techniques. Ben offers western acupuncture, sports taping, kinesio taping and rehabilitation programming. All of these modes of treatment combined are more conducive to a patient's recovery. Ben also gives consideration to environmental factors such as lifestyle, working environment and diet, which leads to a more holistic treatment approach.

Ben treats a whole cross section of society from children to the elderly. A lot of his current practice is dealing with sports injuries. For example, he supports a Thai Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing Gym, who are regarded as the top UK team, and respected worldwide. A number of his patients from these gyms compete at national and international levels.
